重ステへの道!(作業編)

EngineRoom
作業前のエンジンルームです。大してイジっていない極普通の眺め。永井電子のプラグコードとかレーシングビートのエアクリーナーよりも目をひくのが銀色に塗装された通称「プラモデルカムカバー」です。(笑)
安易に塗ると不自然になるので気をつけましょう。ちなみに余った塗料で焼却炉も塗りました。

今回はまずエアフロメーター周りから外しました。


AirFlowMeter off
で、これがエアフロメーター周りを外したところです。吸気用のパイプは真ん中から外しました。あ、ちなみにタワーバーも一瞬外しました。


PowerSteeringPomp
では、このパワステポンプを外しましょう。ブラケットに1カ所で止まっています。プーリーにあるサービスホールからディープソケットでやるのが正しいんでしょうが、私は持っていなかったので、先にベルト周りを外してから攻めました。ブラケットは水の経路を外さないと外れなそうだったので、止めました。結構重そうなブラケットだ。


PowerSteeringPomp-off
さて、外したところです。エアコンコンプレッサーが見えます。ポンプはまだエンジン前部にもたれ掛かってます。手前にあったパワステオイルタンクも外しました。配管を外すとダラダラとオイルが溢れてくるので先に抜いておいた方が良いんでしょうが、抜き方の分からなかった私は、「えいやー」でダラダラダラ・・・。駐車場には恥ずかしいシミが・・・。(ポッ)


AirConditionerCompressor-off
コンプレッサーも外しました。これはブラケットに4カ所で留まってます。ブラケットも簡単に外れました。このコンプレッサーとブラケットが重いんだ、これが。ダンベルとして第二の人生が送れます。(笑)

コンプレッサーに接続してある配管を緩めるとフロンちゃんが勢い良く飛んでいきます。すみません大気開放してしまいました。(_O_)
回収できるもんなんだろうか?とりあえず、下にこぼれたフロン液で先程のパワステオイルの恥ずかしいシミをフロン洗浄。(笑)
奥のウォッシャータンクも外して、その根元にあったアルミ配管も外しましたが、これが知恵の輪状態なので、みんなもチャレンジしましょう。もう一回やれと言われても出来ないかも。(笑)

その配管がぐるっと運転席側に回ってるんですが、途中にコネクタが刺さってます。これの取り方が良く分からなくて手こずったので、頭に来てぶった切りました。(笑)

これがそのぶった切ったコネクタ。苛立ちの後が見えます。(^^;


Pipes from bottom
さて、今度はこの偽ラジエターを外しましょう。4角で留まっております。ボルト&ナットを外したら、全体を前方に引き出せば外れます。これが分からなくて20分はロスしました。(^^;;;


parts Cut
4つのボルト&ナットのうち運転席側上部の奴へのアクセスが非常に悪いのでここに切り込みを入れて腕を突っ込みました。偽ラジエターを引き吊り出す時もフロンタンクがこのスペースを通ります。


PowerSteeringPipe for cooling
パワステオイルの経路もラジエター前を通って冷却されております。ちなみにここの配管が一番知恵の輪でした。ラジエターを傷つけないようにしましょう。


TieRodEnd-off
さて残るはラックアンドピニオン部のみです。いよいよこの作業のメインイベント、タイロッド外しです。上部の虫ピンを外してナットを外したら、この少し厚く平らになってる部分をハンマーで思いっきり叩きましょう。タイロッドを再利用する場合はネジ山やカバーの部分を傷つけないようにやらなきゃいけません。ハンマーを2つ使って当てハンマーをやるのが確実な模様。初めてやるときはかなり緊張するんだよねえ、、ってそれは今回の私。(笑)


Steering ASSY Weight
組み込む前に新品のラックアンドピニオンASSY&タイロッドの重さを測ってみましょう。5kgちょいでした。ちなみにパワステ用のは8kg。


Compare New&Old
新旧を比較。パワステには余分なモノがいっぱい付いてます。それに比べて重ステのシンプルなこと。


All Parts Weight
外した部品(ラックアンドピニオンASSY&タイロッド以外)を全て測ってみると16kgちょいでした。これに新旧ラックアンドピニオンASSYの重量差の3kgとボルト&ナットを含めると約20kgの軽量化です。そのほとんどが車軸付近からオーバーハングに掛けてなのでこれは効くはず。


NewSteering-On
重ステを取り付けたところを上から。パワステとエアコンが無いとこのようにエンジンルームはガラガラになります。


NewSteering-On2
今度は前から。ラックアンドピニオンASSYの取り付けはまず矢印部分のステアリングシャフト側との連結からやりましょう。ここのボルトがハマらなかったため、一度取り付けたモノを再度外した経緯があります。

ついでにオイルも交換中。

なお、今回の作業をおこなうと、トーがめちゃめちゃに狂う可能性があるので、心配な人は調整してもらいましょう。私は、外す前に各部の距離を測定をしておいたので、そんなにびっくりするほどは狂ってないはずなんだけど・・・・。大きく狂ってるとしたらステアリングセンターくらいで・・・。


BP Verbis Neo
オイルはBPのバービスネオにしてみました。こういう色してます。薄からず濃からず。15W−40で2980円。

私の使用ジャッキです。青いパンタグラフはロードスターの車載工具です。赤いやつはカー用品店の安売りで買いました。3000円くらいだったかなあ?38cmくらいまでしか上がらないので役不足です。でも良いものを買うお金が無いのよん。
